how many applications run in Task Manager on a new computerthanks for the log. sure you are filled with all sorts of bad things. also why are you running multiple virus-antispyware programs, which arent helping you!! you have mcaffee, which i hate and is useless, zonealarm is ok, but bloaty, bit defended i dont really know so i cant comment, but is not needed, and ms antispyware, which is the best of the bunch. then adblocker and ad buster is crap!!, as are some others. most toolbars are spying as well - get them all out! also cdilla is a bad thing. it came installed 3 years ago with turbotax to stop people from stealing that product, so if that is removed, turbottax 2002 will not work, not sure if other products you isntalled are using it, but i would remove it until you need it. Using a Dell OEM XP Pro disk to do an upgrade from Dell OEM XP Here's the situation: (All disks are SP2) One of our Dell desktops was seriously messed up with malware, viruses, etc., and... you dont need popup blockers and stuff like that if you use firefox or IE with SP2 installed. here is what i would take it first of all using hijack: then try it out and you will see your time improve, but you should not be running bit defender with zonealarm. they are doing the same thing. you got MS for your antispyware and mcaffee (yuk) for your virus protection. *** processes in memory - terminate them ***
** remove these with hijack
* i get rid of all buttons, not needed and slow down startup of IE and explorer - unless you really use something
*** i would take all these O16's out since they are not really needed. if something is really needed, it will prompt you to download again.
*stop and change these these services to manual from within services manager - not hijack
