Tom, you mentioned the invertor with 110 volts and enough watts; a) is this an item that is available from the vendor (IBM, Dell, or Toshiba) or will he need to get it from third parties? b) Is there an ideal wattage? Is there too much? What should the minimum be? What is a good wattage? :-) (I wonder if they offer bigger screens on the X40, in case he considers a bigger screen.) 2. NoNo, I doubt 32 or 64 bit would make much difference for this user. Internet access is his primary concern (and the usual Office applications). I mentioned IBM and Dell because I have heard horror stories about HP and Compaq's service. How is Toshiba's warranty and service? (I am familiar with Dell's. I have had Dell's since late '97.) Any specific Toshiba model you would recommend?.... Would I need to specify the Verizon chipset or is it standard? (He intends to open an account with them. I know little about hotspots anyway and I also recommended that he get a dedicated wireless account rather than taking a chance on piggy backing on other people's services.) 3.
