usb problems
Hello there i have just bought a new dell dimension 3000 desktop pc, i had a HP BRIO pc but it was causing a lot of problems when i plugged my modem in one of the usb ports and a scanner in the other, my modem is an alcatel speedtouch 330 it takes a lot of power from the USB port and when the scanner was connected everything slowed down. My old pc had 2 usb ports and i tried a powered hub but that didn't work and i kept getting no dial messages!. But with this new dell, am i going to get the same problem i had with the HP machine or does the dell handle it better?
the Scanner i had was a canoscan also the modem took about 500mw of power (I am sure that is the right figure)
I Hope you can help how highly do you rate this model anyway?
