wireless mouse goes comatose 499

Thanks, Quaoar,

This plain-vanilla wireless keyboard and mouse each sports only one green "teach" button, with a single green "learn" button on the base.

On the recurrence of the problem, I repeated the original teach-learn routine and, although that never worked for more than a few minutes with my first mouse, it has held steady for 48 hours now in this second instance.

Perhaps I'll be able to "re-teach" or reset my way out of this. If it's a once-every-3-weeks deal, I can live with that. And, just in case, I plugged in my old PS-2 mouse and it co-exists happily with the wireless keyboard, so, if worse comes to worse ...

Meanwhile, for what it's worth, I pbutted the recurrence on to the Dell guy who replaced my first intermittently comatose mouse. I'm just just puzzled that all signs point to a specific hardware failure no one else has apparently reported. You know Dell, and they don't replace stuff if there's any alternative. They must be as stuck for an answer as we are.

Thanks again for your kind efforts,

Travis

Ha, good point, Ricky! I would have thought hardware replacement cases would be kicked sufficiently far upstairs that virtually all possible...
