1 to 2 on Linux 168 plus 146
So exactly what is the problem with elitism, anyway? What's wrong with wanting something better? Cool. Okay. I'll grant you that. How many years were they in service? The Insanity of Linux begin Auto OE Killfile.vbs On Mon, 27 Jun 2005 20:02:12 -0700, tab I have yet to meet a Linux advocate who persists in claiming there are no problems in linux. Rather most are more than... There's no real way for me to prove it to you, but I am not making it up. We have set up a nice honkin huge file server (Linux and Samba) and private storage areas for everyone in the company. It would be a simple matter for them to back up their files and then do clean reinstalls of the operating system. That generally clears up many Windows problems. However, it usually takes more time than any executive is willing to give up ... even if you point out to him that he's spending more time beating his brains out with a slow old Windows computer than he'd spend remunging it. The hardware is probably on the same level as far as reliability goes. For design, Apple hardware is better. But why are you focusing on hardware? It's Winodws software that degrades so fast ... I said, don't get on! Geeeze! I tell you not to get one, and then you say you "certainly will not". Dammit. Listen to me: Don't get one! I don't want to hear another word! I have stated elsewhere why I disagree with you about the OS X UI. All you've ever said is that it's crap; you've never taken the time to provide a useful analysis. So I think you're just making it all up. Point me to the Apple documentation that explains its 64-bit implementation and tell me what's wrong with it, then I'll pay attention. But otherwise, I'm inclined to think that you're just boring more hot air. That's based on speculation, of course. You don't know what pre-production CPUs Apple got from IBM. You tell him. He's not my pet. No, he didn't. He confirmed that he is a few bricks shy of a full load. But you jump on that as the perfect opportunity to generalize on all Mac users. That's not very scientific of you. I don't. When he posts bullpoo, I call him on it. You just conveniently ignore it, and only look at evidence that confirms your a priori conclusions. Well, I don't tell you that. And as for the guys who do, or who you think they do ... blow 'em off. Geeze, you come off way too sensitive about this whole thing. I know. You've been saying that for a long time. It has so steeped itself into your psyche that you are incapable of carrying on a logical conversation about the subject. Your logic goes like this: Macs are crap. Therefore anyone who uses a Mac is a bit of an idiot. The computers used by idiots must be pretty dumb themselves. Here's a bunch of idiots and they're all using Macs. Therefore Macs are crap. It's a nice bit of circular logic you've got going there; it's just long enough that a religious fundamentalist could not follow the whole chain and spot the error ... but you're probably smarter than that. Surprisingly, however, you have stated every piece of the chain at one time or another. 1 to 2 on Linux 168 plus 147 begin virus.txt.scr Timberwoof There is not much wrong with "elitism" It is a whole lot wrong with pretending to be"elite" and at the ame time showing off how... Of course, you can ignore everything I say since I'm a Mac user. -- If Macintosh is a luxury cruise ship, then Linux is a freighter with wood paneling in the officers' quarters. -- If Macintosh is a luxury cruise ship, then Linux is a freighter with wood paneling in the officers' quarters.
