Is your version of 10.0 the boxed or the OSS version. Currently I use 9.2 professional. It works like a champ. some system details

Msi Neo8KT Mobo AMD Opteron64 3000 cpu one gig ram Nvidia Gforce3 128 meg video

With Suse 9.2 the machine boots in less than a minute from pushing the power button. Software is running within 15 seconds no matter how many or what applications are running. BTW instalation took less than 25 minutes with the software packages chosen.

Now to the 10.0 OSS. Bog slow. Two plus hours for the install. And then it takes an average of 15 minutes to boot If it boots. Software can take up to five or ten minutes to start. This has not been a typical way for Suse to run. I've used Suse since 8.0 was a new release. I downloaded the cd's from the Colorado mirror. (just a bit of information the DVD 64 bit ISO's don't seem to be available anymore. They were there a few weeks ago when I looked into downloading them. The 64 bit version of 10.0 OSS is available as 5 cd ISO's. The version I downloaded and used)

HOW BAD IS LINUX 13429

Back to my question though. Is this typical of 10.0 OSS version veruses the commercial release ? I read the posts here and some others seem to have the same complaint as I. Others seem to have an easy install and a system that works very well.
