An order of Ubuntu, and could you MepiSize that 3799 On Wed, 19 Apr 2006 23:48:06 -0400, rapskat Frankly having used just about every popular Linux distribution known in the free world, and then some, I fail to see the popularity of... I just had some problems installing to a system with 2 Western Digital drives, both the same and both 40g. They were jumpered Master-Slave (no cable select) and for some odd reason Lilo did not install correctly. Turned out to be pilot error and it was in the faq so I am not the only idiot out there.... Thedev-hda5 thing got me confused and I am still not certain what is actually going on here as the drive is reallydev-hda1? Anyway, I clicked on the install help icon after booting up the CD and followed the instructions TO THE LETTER, I mean EXACTLY as written and it worked. Funny thing was on my other system, I made my own mount points etc and it worked fine. That was a more modern system however. One other thing is that on the boot loader install screen you must click the INSTALL button before hitting next or lilo won't be installed. It's easy to miss. Personally I think the install program needs a little touching up, but after it's installed boy does it run nice!! Well worth the fooling around and screwing up (that's me!).
