Anyone read "Just for fun" by Linus Torvalds 1584Anyone read "Just for fun" by Linus Torvalds 1585 BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Sinister Midget Well, to be honest, I haven't read either two other biographies you mention. And, yes, you're right, it is something nice that he tries... Sounds to me like someone *trying* to do a self buttessment and give an honest portryal (in the parts where he's on about himself) instead of the "Ain't I wonderful" type book most of the self-absorbed weasels out there (have someone) write about themselves (for example, Bilge Gatu$ and Lee Imacookoo both come to mind). Anyone read "Just for fun" by Linus Torvalds 1587 Johannes Bauer I've seen enough of your posts. Enough comes though. Never mind that I have the right to judge what ever I want, only a... We all have some similar qualities in us: some arrogance, a bit of dismissiveness, impatience. Practically all of us would be considered pieces of poo by one set of people or another.(1) I might not like Linus in person. Then again, I might. But I'm not going to base that decision on something I read, even if it *is* something he wrote himself. You can't always be sure that the way someone comes across in person is the same as they come across in writing. As it likely would if you met any of us, or the way we'd feel if we met most of the others in person. Maybe not 180, but certainly some. (1) There are those who would almost universally be considered to be crap, excepting in the eyes of those exactly like they are. SHEman, DooFu$, KKKrapKKKatchaMan, Flathead. OK, maybe DooFu$ wouldn't seem so bad in person. S-H-It's probably a scared little suckup in person, frightened of offending, afraid someone might beat him up, ready to do anything told so as to avoid the wratch of someone that might get physical. Like Bilge. -- As I told you guys when I came here to cola, spreading the truth in response to your MS conspiracy shrieking, I've used Linux previously for about a week, via two distros: RedHat 4.2 and later SUSE 7.1 Pro. -- DFS, the Linux expert
