Kelsey Bjarnason Sure thing. Begin followed by two spaces is a punctuation error. Didn't they teach you...

Slight difference; Borland compiles C and C++ code, in neither of which would Return, at the begining of the file, be valid; thus the compilers are under no particular expectation to handle it "correctly". On the other hand, a line beginning with "begin " *is* a well-formatted usenet message, so a usenet client should handle it correctly.

Nice try, though; offering an example of code that's broken and a compiler that works, as being somehow related in concept to a message that's correct and a client that's broken.

Then why can't MS fix it?

For you, perhaps. Many of us use it daily, without problems. That *you* can't use it is your failure, not Pan's.

Don't know; I've never had such a problem. File a bug report. Or fix it yourself; the code's available. It doesn't affect me, as I rarely use such macros, so it's not something that would be high on my priority list to fix; you seem to whine about it a lot, though, so why not be useful and go fix it? Or do you prefer to simply whine that programs aren't perfect, so the people you aren't paying to work on them should jump up and do your bidding?

You're right, they haven't; they prefer to fix the software. The notion of telling users to simply not receive messages starting with "begin " would be ludicrous; only MS could think that was sane.
