Commercial code is better: Cedega VS Wine 3359snips On Sat, 11 Mar 2006 01:27:16 +0000, billwg Commercial code is better: Cedega VS Wine 3361 Using the favored (mostly by trolls) auto analogy: Would a major automaker be excused under consumer laws for allowing dangerous conditions to exist on braking systems, exploding gas tanks, wheels... Not quite. It was more stupid politics on the part of the goober whose job I was essentially taking away. He's responsible for, among other things, setting up user accounts, email accounts, etc, etc, etc, but for obvious reasons wasn't being overly helpful about it all. Since I had basically three options - wait for him to fix it, fix it myself, or go whine to management - and since I was going to drop a Linux desktop in *anyways*, and further, a large part of my job *necessitates* my having this data stored locally, about the only odd part of the whole process is that the drives are actually mine, not the company's. Can't see it's a big deal, either way. I've got the tools I need, the company's getting the work done, and the only downside is I'm out a couple drives for my home machines. Big whoop. They hire a net admin to take over the running and redesigning of their entire network architecture, but they're supposed to be all freaked out that he has access to their data and stores their offsite backups for them. Yes, yes, big concern. Must fix that. -- MS, because work should be measured by effort, rather than result.
