Cross Platform DevelopmentI've been thinking the same thing. The surface it sits on seems to make a difference. It lasts longer on a flat table surface than on my lap. I has no problem at all on the docking station, but it elevates the laptop above the table slightly; air can circulate underneath. I should be able to run a diagnostic of some kind that will show the core temperature... sometimes that is even in the BIOS screens. The demo went off fine. Ran it off of my linux box across the Internet rather than play laptop roulette. The client loved it. Now we just need to navigate the internal paperwork maze to get it deployed on their monstrous AIX-Websphere application server. I'm a big fan of SDL. My (horribly neglected) gridslammer game SDK uses it. Newer versions of SDL have much better OpenGL-Mesa integration, so you can now do some really powerful game programming with it. I've a mostly finished video game written in SDL-Mesa that cross compiles nicely on Windows, Linux, and Mac. It is a combat game with air ships armed with cannons. They fly around in a vast space full of floating islands and castles, giant beehives, and other weird things. Eventually, you will be able to customize the blimps, changing the basic size and shape, number of props and cannons, change the graphics and texture on the lifting body, and other fun things. Free of all virus's at last... I should really just clean the code up a bit and make an alpha release. I have too darn many irons in the fire! Thad
