Disappointing response to OS2 open source 9931 Yes, OS-2 made them money. According to some people at IBM I spoke with... Trusting ANY mega-corporation is foolish behavior. IBM has it's sights set on Linux as well as it's other enterprise operating systems like AIX. Disappointing response to OS2 open source 9930 I would love to give OSX a try, unfortunately my hardware does not support it at this time. I use Linux, I have Fedora Core4... What you need to do is to look and see what IBM is doing with regard to open source and from what I can see, they have been very generous in supporting the community. It might be a trick and I certainly don't trust or even like IBM, but seeing is believing and from what I see they haven't done anything bad at least not yet. Of course ultimately they want to make a buck, but there is nothing wrong with that now is there? As for OS-2, why don't you guys get over it already? OS-2 is dead, it's been in limbo and mostly dead for years. Sure, it was a GREAT OS and had IBM not blown the marketing side of OS-2 we would all be using it instead of Windows XP, but that didn't happen and rehashing it over and over isn't going to change a thing. FWIW if you like OS-2, you'll love Linux or OSX. Just my 2 cents from a former OS-2 user and TEAMOS2 member.
