LiveCDs and Some Thoughts
first off, i like gnu-linux. i can *really* see the benefit. i'm excited about...

On Friday 04 November 2005 15:53, Thomas Wootten stood up and spoke the following words to the mbuttes incomp.os.linux.advocacy...:

I was already suspecting it, but I wasn't sure. ;-) Well, maybe not that it was a bot post, but rather that it was a spamlike post. ;-)

NOVELL to Restructure Around Linux, Idenbreasty
Au79 It looks like Novell may have learned their lesson at last. Keep in mind that Novell purchased the rights to Unix back...

It was badly written anyway, or at least for me it was. I really have a hard time concentrating when all that text is packed together into one big chunk without any linebreaks.

Yet, I picked up on it, since it mentioned idenbreasty theft. ;-)

True, but I presume they would be more careful - if only for their own good - about saying such a thing in Europe. After all, this is not the USA, and there are far more leftwing environments than Europe who are opting for GNU-Linux in their government IT infrastructure, e.g. China.

Additionally, one can hardly all Novell or IBM "leftwingers." SuSE is originally German and Germany has had a slightly left-of-center regime for a number of years now, but France and Belgium have slightly right-of-center regimes, and as you may or may not know, the French government has decided only last year that Microsoft had to leave the government IT building in favor of Mandriva.

The French are quite chauvinistic - they even invented the word - and Mandriva happens to be a French company, albeit with a little bit of American input, and now even with some Latin American input since they bought Lycoris and Conectiva. ;-)

-- With kind regards,
