There're loads, like the dead people who vote for MS, for example! Try There is no average user (in spite of the troll claims). You are aware that this group is archived by several organisations, so that a google search will show up these posts? The audience is anyone who uses google. Fair enough. As a bit of an aside, this is pretty much the approach I took in my first couple of years in cola. It's certainly useful to be able to rehearse the arguments, and does no harm in having them recorded for posterity. Firefox Founders: "We want to make money..." 10178 begin oeprotect.scr It's the dead giveaway, I think. These posts are remarkably formulaic, which should make them easy... Firefox Founders: "We want to make money..." 10179 Larry Qualig That's why I quoted the original great..parent which I see you've managed to cut from your reply. It's the point at which you changed the subject. I... Could well be interesting. Before I came to PCs, I wrote 6809 and z80 buttembly. I then wrote Pascal and C on PCs, although spent my earliest net-days on a Dec Unix machine in Geneva, in the days before the web existed and gopher was truly cool. I still like the gopher interface, incidentally, although perhaps I'm just being nostalgic about the simplicity of it. After that, I became responsible for an increasingly wide range of telecoms kit scattered around the planet, although with a big chunk here in the UK. I'm a big fan of distributed computing, high-availability systems, the GPL and COTS hardware! Thank you. It's taken a couple of years to set the scene, but I'm almost overwhelmed with the enthusiasm, now. To be fair, going into an academic environment is not so hard, as so many academics like Macs, so offering a Microsoft alternative at a great price is not so difficult as it could be in some places. Mmmmmmmmm. Okay. I can be very quick to judge now - probably been here so long that I've grown roots. Oh man - what a result! I felt very sorry for the Aussies in the end, because they'd been sooooo close, and their tail-enders played really well. But I still like to win :-) -- end Mark Kent -- mark at ellandroad dot demon dot co dot uk Cogito cogito ergo cogito sum -- "I think that I think, therefore I think that I am." -- Ambrose Bierce, "The Devil's Dictionary"
