Well, you anti-MS folk are content to revel in the thought that Mr. Softee is some kind of crook, but us progressives are more interested in seeing exactly what is what. Take for example the inclusion of some IE code in the Windows shell DLL that was found to be anticompebreastive. Now that is a violation, but it seems to me that the act of putting some code in a module with some other code since the programmer expected that the two went together is not an overt criminal act on the part of Microsoft but rather is a discovery of a proscribed action that was determined as needing to be prevented in the future.

This is a hoot! See further down. Bilge reminds me of someone in this post (and some previous ones). He would be flattered to be compared with this guy. We received some new equipment...

None of the actions found to be in violation were illegal per se. All were fairly common business practices freely used by other companies in other businesses. The "illegality" only comes in if-when the doer has a monopoly and the action is only useful in maintaining that monopoly and has no other apparent purpose. Microsoft is perfectly free to improve Windows and add functionality all day long even though that maintains their monopoly since it also improves their product and adds to their customers value.

You try to make the actions into crimes by comparing them to speeding, but that is an incorrect analogy.
