By and large, they were loudly laughed at by the troll population, with the view that "well, it's only 10% - who cares about them?". I've always been convinced that excluding 10% of a market is a foolish thing to do without some good reason, and failure to follow standards would not, in my view, be a good reason. If you want to send a binary you used begin the right way and OE had no problem. Here you... Well, Firefox is by far the fastest growing browser, just as linux is the fastest growing OS. I suspect that open office is the fastest growing office suite, and mutt is obviously widely used. I'm always interested in which companies don't follow standards, because I just won't use them any more, and I'll tell everyone I knowwhyI don't use them.
