For Launch, CMT.com, and others like them

This is not really a question but rather a statement about the regards to persons who use software other than Microsoft products.

When attempting to view video or listen to audio clips from this website, various proprietary calls and checks are made that are specific for Windows only clients & software. This excludes many persons that use other platforms and-or software from enjoying this media.

While it is understandable that you can not be expected to account for the many different kinds of software and platforms in use today, it is just as unreasonable to preclude all but one from being able to enjoy your content.

There is really no technologically sound reason for this. Various modern media players in use today are capable of playing Windows Media formats just fine. I do so all the time. However, when server-side includes are denying to even allow me the opportunity to view said media based merely on the absence of a particular application; then this is paramount to software discrimination and shows a distinct lack of consideration for your viewers.

I would suggest that you remove these server-side checks and allow them to be handled by the client. If they are incapable of viewing the media, it is not your fault or responsibility. It is your responsibility that *everyone* be allowed at least the opportunity to view your content, and not to be denied based solely on the software that they are using or not using.
