SQL Server 2005 supports stored procedures that are written in .NET, and it will (I heard) be able to notice ADO.NET apps when a table is updated (used with DataSet). However, I think the whole DataSet thing is f*** stupid, because you have to manually deal with the relationship between tables in DataSet... it's just like to setup and maintain one database in two places... There must be something wrong in the designer's head...

Aquila Deus big snip Yea, "role based" security has been around forever, Notes had it years ago...

I use it heavily to simplify db-related code in web-app side. It makes the whole database access interface look like some API written in C. And Java or .NET sp will definitely help a lot because M$'s T-SQL sux (compared to PL-SQL)
