Why? It addresses my needs very well. Just because it doesn't suit yours does *not* make it a bad OS. If it were really that bad, no one would use it.

I have nothing against the BSDs, they're no doubt filling a niche that needs filling, but they obviously lack something that Linux has - or they'd be in the place Linux occupies.

Ahhahahhahhahhaahhaah! Me? A yuppie? I work in a factory, pal, I'm forty-four years old and I'm not 'upwardly mobile'. I expect to die in the town where I was born, and I'm happy with that. I'm making no fashion statement, I use Linux because I like it and it does what I want it to.

just in case you missed it the first time: I use Linux because I like it, it's Free (and free), and it works well, plus I get to control it. FreeBSD may be very good, I've not doubt it's well-written etc, but it doesn't cut it for me. It's back where Linux was five or more years ago.

Would you care to repeat that in English?
