Google: An AntiLinux Microsoft ToolErik Funkenbusch Yes, it occurs very often. There are always people working in large corporations, doing stuff that is on the cutting edge. Those ideas may be ahead of themarketingcurve and be picked up now, or years later and turned into something marketable. Linux desktops not taking off: IDC 16832 Actually, this is an interesting number. First of all it focuses on the most unlikely Linux candidates - SMBs. These are typically... No it certainly doesn't. And there may have been many other people who were doing similiar things with as little notoriety as Rex. But Rex just seems to be asking for his fair share of respect. Based on the intelligence of his posts alone, and his understanding of the industry, I do not see why his claims would not have merit. He didn't say that. He simply said that he often worked in bleeding edge technology that found it's way in other forms to the marketplace. Rex is establishing two things: (a) That he his an innovator. (b) That the technologies in which he is involved becomelegitimizedand brought to market later on.

Currently, I'm working on a project using .NET Remoting that after long research I see no other similar implementation. If I produce this project, my guess is that two years from now you will see a lot of similar offerings. (a) I would never expect to see my project's name outside of my intranet. (b) I might ( and already have ) alluded to aspects of it in Usenet in an effort to also get information from others. Later on, could I claim to have 'invented' this particular implementation of .NET Remoting technology? Well, in some sense yes. Would I bother. Well, if I were looking to establish my credentials for future work -- yes, of course.
