Got Linux to boot! 1550-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 On Sat, 05 Mar 2005 17:11:48 -0700, it's just an ascii file, you can edit it manually, although that's obviously not a newbie kind of thing to do at all :) Three Times The Curse 1552 in poked his little head through the XP firewall and said: Fair enough. Fair enought. I can dig that, as I have... Do note that it's a session file, for the GNOME session, so all GNOME aware apps will have their status saved. This file is written upon exiting from the gnome-session, either automatically, or if you click the "save mys session" button in the log off dialog. (depending on your config, default is to offer the option) If you typically have a lot of apps open, and want to return to them when you log back in, it can take a few seconds for GNOME to save the data and close. I usually turn it off, and don't save session, but sometimes I find it useful. You can also save a session manually at any time, either through the CLI, or via the app itself. You can save multiple sessions, and chose among them upon logging in, although I haven't done this. I just read about it in the context sensitive (but lacking a search function) help system :) -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU-Linux) iD8DBQFCKmFdd90bcYOAWPYRAm7CAKC3FO5UKIhhQXpJoUBhUc-rwewtLACfRDwi l5NSr3kH-eVDPaFFH00Z3kE= =lrQp -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Three Times The Curse If there's any thing that might make an unbeliever out of me, it's sound in Linux... -- The nice thing about standards is that there are so many of them to choose from. --- Grace Murray Hopper, as quoted in the Unix Haters Handbook, p.10
