Really? Gun bans stop people from *other countries* from *illegally smuggling* guns in from other countries? Gun bans stop them from *stealing guns from the police and Army* even? That's what we are talking about here.
Prohibition of any kind has *never* worked in the US. Alcohol Prohibition didn't work. It just put the distribution of it, and the profit, in the hands of violent gangsters. Drug prohibition didn't work for the same reason. Now you want gun Prohibition. Sorry, won't fly.

We've shown *elsewhere* that guns are *not* connected to violence. The cause of the violence isn't the guns, it's the gangsters, empowered by the prohibition of drugs. The vast, overwhelming majority of gun owners *never* comit a violent act.
