And yet...there are very few of those incidents, relative to other household accidents. That seems to suggest that guns are extremely safe. Furthermore, it seems to suggest that homes of your average gun owner are rather safe from intrusion.

Do you know how many "medical studies" turn around and get contradicted by each other every year? A single study is hardly significant. Many studies have to be done to be certain of anything.
