How Linux is like The Matrix 168 plus 178How Linux is like The Matrix 168 plus 179 begin Error Log for Wed, 29 Jun 2005 00:57:09 -0400 - dfs You're right, Linux does make me lazy. Day after day of just using my computer... Tom Shelton I thouhgt windows was supposed to be EASIER than Linux! For the f***ing outrageous price, one should not have to go running around searching google for binaries compiled by god knows who. Just how is the a person (and YES the average user may well be interested in recursive downloads, I know plenty that are although they may not know to call it recursive) supposed to know that the site they are getting wget from is REPUTABLE? How is the average windows user that wants to be able to do recursive downloads to know that even gnu.org is a reputable sight without doing a bunch of research? At least with the average Linux distribution the user is getting them from the same source as their distribution. So, if the user knows and trusts their distribution, they will not have to research who the f*** cygwin is. Honestly, how many computer users really know about "cygwin"? Not all that many I suspect, so they would be idiots to download without taking a lot of time to learn who they are. I would not suggest ANYONE download and installing something they found on the net without finding out if they are reputable first, WOULD YOU? Certainly sounds like you are. I know that you think you are the expert at what all the "average user" wants, but I really don't see that you have any qualifications to speak for all of them.
