I thought of installing Linux on the xbox when my brother had it. But after going to the sony site and seeing all the cool stuff you can get for the PS2, like keyboards and other stuff all ready made for it as well as other things I figured why bother. There is hardly any choice of hardware for the xbox. I'll just get a PS2 and Microsoft can burn in hell.

What would be nice is if SUSE, Novelle or any one that deals solely with Linux would make there own game console. The hardware would be all open standard, which means you can replace any peace of hardware like you can in a regular computer. The BIOS would be running OpenBios or LinuxBios. And the console OS would be Linux of course.

People probably wouldn't even ever need a computer any more, if they can just pop in there movies, music and games and play all of them like you can in the current consoles. The only difference is, this consoles would be based on open standards and open source. So every one will get a lot more freedom with it.

Game designers will be able to make games for a console with out owing game revenue to the console designers.
