A webpage that has a link to download the distribution:

* Please go here to download-install DeMuDi. * Please go here to download-install Rehmudi.

Thanks Linux
Having just returned from a nice little weekend getaway to Lbutten Volcanic National Park, I have to say THANKS, LINUX! Why? Well, for starters...

The first one leads to a page to download an ISO image.

* Download the latest A-DeMuDi 1.2.1 ISO image here. * Download the latest A-DeMuDi 1.2.0 ISO image here. * Download the set of A-DeMuDi 1.0 ISO images here. * Download the A-DeMuDi 0.9 ISO image here.

I usually choose the latest version because it is usually better than previous versions.

You can't really ask for anything more simple than that.

Then follow directions:

"How to download our software

We are reorganizing our download section, using our GForge installation release system, in order to make it more flexible and easy to use.

*In the meantime, please use the following links to download our software.*" emphasis added.

In all honesty this is really simple stuff. Having failed to even make it past a simple website I don't find it at all surprising that you utterly failed to install the development version of the OS, something even experienced people can have troubles with.

Whatever website you read is completely wrong. Not only does it not have to be, it shouldn't be. The only thing super users should be used for is managing the system. Installing new packages and making system wide configurations is a good example. Part of the whole Windows problem is everyone runs as super users.

Linux is a Unix system. It has security *built in*. It is not wide open by default but exactly the opposite. You have to give yourself access to parts of the system that normal users of a unix system would not normally be granted. You do this by adding the user to the appropriate groups, in this case you would normally add them to the 'audio' group. You can also change the permissions of the device and give everyone access to it. The whole thing is VERY configurable.

Listen, Linux is NOT Windows. It doesn't operate the same ways and was not designed by the same principles. It is a different OS. MacOSX, though based on Unix, is also NOT Linux. Changing to a different OS is going to take some time learning. Only an idiot would expect otherwise.

If you are having trouble understanding the new system you can go purchase a book from the mulbreastude of publications available. You can It isn't rocket science or brain surgery.
