I must apologize... 10088DFS No, I don't run Sun hardware. The ad, if you had read it, points to the fact that this is about as generic amd64 hardware as you can get. If it supports Windows XP, Linux, and Solaris, then you have a sure thing for whatever o-s of choice the end user wants. Will an off the shelf HP, Dell, or Gateway be able to do this? Not likely. The biggest snag is going to be the NIC card and then the graphics card. I only use win98 to play a couple of my old favorite games. Other than that, win98 is pretty useless. And I did close accounts that utilizes windows... the latest is Bank of America for being so stupid as to contract out their credit card accounting to a firm that uses windows. Remember that big data base break and theft of all those credit card numbers??? Well, B of A called me up and said some bozo was trying to use my credit card to purchase $3k of goods off the internet. "Fine, now cancel my account". Heh... doing the later has to do with budgetary priorities. That is why I'm checking various hardware opinions on new machines. Seems a lot of people don't like the PPC arch and are in favor of the amd64 or the Pentium D. Which one to choose from is a delightful task. I must apologize... 10089 In comp.os.linux.advocacy, rapskat wrote on Tue, 02 Aug 2005 03:13:56 -0400 Not quite clear enough; that webpage...
