Installing a Printer in Linux is EASY 1521On Thu, 03 Mar 2005 10:28:15 -0600, mjt That's a very nice looking distribution especially the background picture. The problem is that the person installing the printer is not going to know what to enter into the "Connect as box" where you entered WORKGROUP-mtobler neither is the person going to know what to enter into the User and Domain boxes. With Windows and simple sharing, iow an in home network this is not needed. Browse fills in everything. A network savvy person might not have troubles but you have to admit that the number of questions regarding pbuttwords and accounts when talking about Linux and Windows networks is one of the FAQ in any Linux group. FWIW I use Suse as well and I found the dialog very confusing. I tried using the kde add a printer wizard but it got stuck on the user and pbuttword screen and after a couple of attempts it now segfaults when I try and run it. I did end up making it work using SMB though but it was far from intuitive at least for me.
Installing a Printer in Linux is EASY 1522 This is adding a Printer via the Xandros Distro. You are way to stupid to get to the real root of the problem. I will clue you in... -- Sven Lossman "Freedom of choice is humanities most basic right. Take it away and the result will be anarchy"
