If you buy and sell through the ebay system then you are fully protected as buyer or seller. They can see that you paid for goods, what you bought and who off. So you get your money back if they frauds, then they do their best to weed out the frauds. It's those that try to bypbutt the system, trying to avoid paying ebay it's share that fall into trouble. Ebay being so large you would expect to take quite some time to work through all of the problem purchases, but actually they usually respond within a couple of days. It's a share the large chain stores can't take care of their customers as well as ebay does.

I also know of many good stories where problems didn't need intervention by Ebay at all because of the good will of it's users, a set of plates that turned up smashed to pieces could of been blamed on the delivery company, but when the seller heard about it they repaid the money to the buyer just taking out the postage cost of the goods.

It is worth having a look at Ebay, but read about the protection scemes and always work using the Ebay system, what ever price the goods are.
