You've been repeating this to yourself quite a bit. How much longer do they have to evaluate Linux? It's been desktop-useful for some people for at least 2-3 years. What's stopping these companies from wholesale adoption?

Free sure sounds good on paper. In practice, I can't think of a single free program that replaced a commercial system which had a large installed base and market share.
