Let's look at Eclipse... and others

VPN Service Provider

Eclipse from IBM at www.eclipse.org

A super popular development IDE. Java, C+, and now C#. I use it for Java.

It has failed to find any other Java JRE installations on Ubuntu. Ubuntu comes with Java 1.4.2. I want Java 1.5 or 5 (Tiger) they call it.

-I could have forced it to, but why do I need to? It should just work.

Installed on Suse 10.0, by Yast. It will not even load on Suse 10.0. It runs a minute and then just stops. I can download and do myself, easily, which is a way better then the Ubuntu install.

I guess Linux Guy's have the philosophy, "If it compiles, ship the sucker."

And if I was paid nothing for it, I guess I would too.

Wait, at www.java.com, they can't verify the installation of java using FireFox 1.5, on Suse.

Let's not look at sun$ java crap
trainee co-pilot tab Java crap from sun$ is not GPL'd. Nor is it meaningfully open sourced where developers have rights to fork derivative works that GPL confers. There is no benefit in...

And I did the Java installer, and holy mother of god you flappers, it did not work. Did not verify on www.java.com.

Yes, it install's, but in the wrong f***ing places.

But, all in all, I like Suse. You can tell they do try, even if you have to go to a hackers page, called pakman, to get the media players working. TWEEK TWEEK TWEEK. I guess the lawsuit may scare them.

Pakman rules in Suse. LMAO. But I do like Suse.
