Let's see some more cola hypocrisy 1836That is a silly position to take. Individual MS Office components are available individually. The MS Office suite is simply a volume discount bundle to make it attractive to use other MS applications when any one is actually needed. It is optional. A myth entirely. Very few, if any, of Microsoft's customers sell OS platform software, database engines, development tools, or office automation suites or point products. Most of Microsoft's customers make and-or sell things like automobiles, airplanes, motors, boats, or appliances. Or else they sell services such as banking, insurance, or fresh flower delivery. mplayer's patent alert 1840 Op Sat, 12 Mar 2005 21:53:16 +0000, schreef billwg: Indeed, the end users will be left alone - if... You are silly to think that Microsoft takes much of an interest in how compebreastors might use Microsoft products in their own businesses. They don't do anything special to buttist or impede those activities. It is not even possible to do so. Let's see some more cola hypocrisy 1837 Oh, Ralph, you need to get a better understanding of the system. Microsoft was found to have a 100% legal monopoly. The correct term was "monopoly... It seems that your reading comprehension is at a low level, JEDIDIAH! I said that this consolidation is done in all industries, and Microsoft is the agent for this activity in the platform software business. No one else does it because no one else can do it on the scale that it is needed. A stupid remark, JEDIDIAH, and one that you should try to justify so that you can see how silly it is. Prices went down substantially in terms of absolute dollars and even more so in light of inflationary effects. For example, in the Windows-MSDOS era, the list price to the user for this combination was about $250. It did not include things like TCP-IP (compare to B&W for $99), disk utilities (compare to Norton at $79), fax and other communications (compare to WinFax for $495), NFS (compare to Sun for $129), browsers, multimedia players, etc.. Quite a stretch, even for an anti-MS troll, JEDIDIAH! You can use "lite" applications all you want. If you want to be compatible with someone else, that is not Microsoft's evil plan, just a recognition of the way things are in the real world. Try living in it for a while! LOL!!! A lot longer time ago than that, JEDIDIAH! The patent laws do not prevent you from noncopmmercial non-commercial, personal use of patents. Visicalc and its descendants are not part of Windows OS, JEDIDIAH. Look again. Apple was and remains a specialty supplier in the market. DRI had no such vision either. Look at what they did with the opportunity presented by IBM! Years later, they got a clue after Microsoft developed the market, but they were far too late. mplayer's patent alert 1839 I think that the law is on your side in any event. Personal use of copyrighted material or patent principles is not generally a... Sure, JEDIDIAH, sure! LOL!!! What B-school did you graduate from?
