Go ahead and post something better. What are you afraid of when you clip the part where I acknowledge that I don't call it representative of the internet as a whole? Outside of myself I don't see Linux in use, I see Mac OS X in several places.

I'm not making a claim that the sites I see are representative of the whole internet but it is sobering. I'd hope to see more Linux and Mac browsers hitting the sites. I know I'm one of the few people I know that has Solaris, Linux, Windows and Mac machines so I guess I'm really not surprised. The average consumer is running a windows machine, the server market is different. If you have a big competent IT department and write customer solutions you run UNIX with Windows for Windows only things. If you are small you might be running some OSS server for cost reasons. Microsoft has the middle ground really tied up, the companies that aren't big enough to do a lot of custom in house solutions need pre-built stuff and Microsoft does well there. It is a fanboy fantasy that Linux is more popular than the Mac as a desktop-workstation.
