Linux Developers, Start Your Copiers! 16721Linux Developers, Start Your Copiers! 16723 So, yeah, that *is* what you were saying. Note that I didn't say you were lying about that. I just asked for substantiation, and I'll note... snips
Ten? A million? Who cares? And who says the fonts are being used without license? Hint, hint, I have some 1,700 truetype fonts here... every single one of them licensed for my use. Why would my choosing to use xfstt magically make them unlicensed, or are you just being an idiot? Lots of reasons. Legitimate copying to non-DRM-enabled devices, for example. Don't forget, fair use encompbuttes backing up, among other things. Also, there have been some noises about the use of DRM to disallow certain types of software being run, such as viruses. While that's a good thing in principle, what guarantees are there that other software will run? If one can work around DRM, then it doesn't matter; if my favority app vendor can't or won't get their apps signed, I can still run the apps. My choice, not the choice of the DRM twonks. Linux Developers, Start Your Copiers! 16722 No, it's quite possible that some don't. Thanks to OEM bundling and so forth, that's pretty dang rare, though. Are *you* claiming that the majority, or even... Who says Windows software has to be pirated? You? Take a look, you'll see that while I usually run Linux, at the moment I'm running Windows... and I have four entire CD cases of CDs which MS shipped to me, plus buttorted other Windows software which I've bought or otherwise legitimately taken ownership of. My copy of Corel Draw, for example, may be a little long in the tooth, but it's mine, legitimately. If I choose to run them under wine, does that magically make them pirated, or are you just being an idiot again? Dunno... does it? Why? Who were the drivers stolen from? Most of 'em can be freely downloaded. Depends. Do you have a legitimate copy of Windows? If so, then you *also* have a legitimate claim to use the Windows drivers. That you happen to use them in Linux is really neither here nor there, is it?
