Linux advocates are an "Embarrbuttment

Linus Torvalds laughs at Linux advocates in his book, "Just for Fun". He calls you wankers. I read that book in 2003, and have known about it since then. Linus hates it when some smelly unkept linux fanatic comes up to him and starts groveling at their "god". You annoy him when you tell him you love the kernel. Please, don't touch him, you haven't bathed in a while. And no, not even a handshake.

Now O'Reily has new articles out aimed at shaming the Linux advocates into being normal. Apparently Linux advocates do way more harm than good and are major road blocks in the adaptation of Linux.

Yes, we normal people have been laughing at you for years. Linus Torvalds probably spilt many a coffee when reading what these moron Linux Advocates do. I can't imagine how many times some wide-eyed, smelly linux advocate, with a runny nose, stood up in our company meetings and proclaimed we should switch our Solaris SunFires and our Win2k AD forest for Linux and LDAP. I can't count how many "linux consultants" have shown up at our door and tried to sway us. Go read my famous post about what happened one time at our office:

Lately we are also seeing a different type of advocate coming to our office. The Mac advocate is the polar opposite of a linux advocate, but just as annoying. Mac advocates are effeminate, clean, and dress in trendy, stylish cloths. Some are even women! But when the come to the office preaching about the "XServe", man do we have trouble getting rid of them. Unlike the Linux advocates who know at least something about computers, Mac advocates never understand why the XServe will never make it in a Win2k AD forest. They just preach the religion over and over again. You never see the dejected look in their eyes when the Mac XServe demos fail to join our Wind2k AD like you do with Linux advocates. Linux advocates, to their credit, know when they've been beat. But at least the Mac advocates don't stink up the office.
