If you look at this from the viewpoint of someone googling for relevant linux information from groups to some query or other, then the pap which is posted here might well produce one, several or a large number of hits. The sheer number of hits could be enough to persuade someone with little honest background in the subject to a highly erroneous viewpoint. That is my feeling regarding why Microsoft would be willing to throw money (not huge amounts, perhaps, but some) at putting a trail of misinformation into every searchable avenue. I completely agree with you with respect to the quality of trolling here, it is, in the main, quite poor indeed. Anyone spending any time here would soon see through the DFSs and the billwgs and the sn*ts and so on. I don't think that's the target for the turfing, though.
