More importantly, why should it matter if you had to pay for it? Are either XP or OS X free? The last time I checked, neither were...

Seems to me if you did have to purchase one, Mandrake would be the least expensive, most cost-effective option.

Where do you get that from? Mandrake comes with several media players, and more are easily obtainable freely after install.
Do you always take such a vehement stance even when you are so obviously wrong?
