Mandrake disappointment 1746
What makes you think I do not? I do... if you check out the source to my posts you will see that (though I suppose those could be forged). I have repeatedly told you what my interest in Linux is - to be able to advocate it to my students clients in an appropriate way when they ask for alternatives to XP - as they often do. For now I point them only to OS X, as I have not used a distro of Linux I find to be as good *for that population*... Again you act like you have not been told that I do not have the hardware available currently to do installs. The last time we went around and around about this you showed little understanding of how someone could have the hardware to do a LiveCD but not a full install. Do you need me to explain that to you now? Quite possibly... I have just read the Wikipedia pages on them... that should help. Perhaps you can continue offer some insight. Do you not think there is a good distro to meet the needs of my students clients? Others have suggested Mandrake or the new Ubuntu, among others... Perhaps not *only* but certainly primarily and the ones that the people in question are most likely to use. OS X is ... though it, too, is not perfect. I would prefer something at least as good as OS X (which is not to say the same as OS X) and preferably better. Mandrake disappointment 1747 They hated them both... but I do not think they really understood the idea that it was running from the CD and that was the slow down... -- Feel free to ask for the recipe.
