But would you consider it to be netiquette? I totally... It's not an excuse. And lots of people aren't really that aware of netiquette. Is begin oeprotect.scr considered netiquette, too? Personally, once the point about the begin bug had been made a few times, it was enough, and prolonging it is childish, IMO. We've all been guilty of breaking netiquette, one time or another. Seems like they spend their time saying they hate him and are going to ignore him - but they never do. Anyhow, he stopped the cross-posts, when asked nicely. Sorry, I'm not getting into that kind of breast-for-tat crap. What he originaly said was, he had a number of students, quite a few of whom were fed up with the faults and dangers of XP. Sometimes he suggested they might try OSX as an alternative. OSX however is expensive, so he thought Linux might be an OS he could also point his students at. He wasn't sure if some of them would find it as easy to use as OSX. The fact that he has a high opinion of OSX is hardly surprising, since he's a Mac advocate. While we may disagree with it, he's enbreastled to it. The what the hell were you discussing? That's one of the things he particularly stated he considered important to *his* users. In fact, he posted screen shot showing what he saw as being the inconsistencies present in XP, as opposed to OSX. Mandrake disappointment 1779 begin virus.scr Kier I don't think that you have understood why the begin bug is still used. It has a lot to do with the posters who still use OE. I certainly don't... Then what is it? He's made numerous attempts to explain what kind of users he has in mind. My paraphase may not be particularly good. His description may not meet your requirements, either, but then he wasn't making it for you, just as a general statement. I certainly saw some. Some of them are annoyoing all the time. This figure, is it accurate? Is it prove? And doesn't the fact that someone counted it up make you wonder? Why should they care so much? Why don't they simply ignore him?
Did I say he had *never* cross-posted? I don't go around keeping a note of it, you know, I sometimes don't even notice. Yes. Probably, if I cared to search. Then why make it at all? Look, I'm not saying Snit is a wonderful person. I'm just saying he doens't particularly deserve to be slagged like this merely for asking question in a manner we don't 'approve' of. Mandrake disappointment 1781 begin oeprotect.scr I've never claimed it was, though. The begin bug point is really not made until the publishers of Outlook Express fix... -- Kier
