Yes, and if you agree to enter into it with him he *claims* he will behave honorably with you. IOW, if you want honor (or, at least, a limited form of it) from Snit, it will be done via contract.

He used to have it on his site at:

I just checked and it was still there but I am giving you the contents in case Snit decides to change it:)

-------------------------------------------------------------------- Honer and Honesty Code

The following people agree to treat each other with honor and honesty. This does not imply that they will always agree, but that in disagreements they will treat each other in ways that adhere to the mutually agreed upon code.

The code is:

1. Be specific. Use the specific example of what it is you that is bothering you. Vague complaints are hard to agree on, especially in a forum like this. 2. Don't generalize. Avoid words like "never" or "always." Such generalizations are usually inaccurate and will heighten tensions. 3. Don't stockpile. Storing up lots of grievances over time is counterproductive. It's almost impossible to deal with numerous old problems for which interpretations may differ. Try to deal with problems as they arise. 4. Agree to let the past go.

It is when it is done repeatedly and inappropriately... as you have done. As one example when I commented - correctly - that one who makes an accusation against another...

These people have agreed to this pact, and should be held accountable to treating each other based on the code.

ed 30 Nov 2004 Pending arrival on Google --------------------------------------------------------------------

As you can see, ed is the only poster who entered into it with Snit. Here is what I believe to be their final exchange on the matter... with Snit stating:

"Either way, you are being rude... certainly not living up to the code of honor."

ed replied with:

"oh please; i'm not the one twisting words around."

Technically, Snit didn't break the code because it doesn't mention anything about refraining from twisting people's words around. Being that this is one of Snit's favorite tools it's no surprise that he'd leave it out. Of course, there is no mention of refraining from being "rude" in there, either... the very criteria Snit used to claim ed broke the contract.
