You are absolutely right. However, war is not democracy, whether it's good or bad. Abuse is a fact in all wars. But the thing that separates US from other countries is that there are a lot of people trying to keep things in balance. There are a lot of watch groups that take action so mistakes do not become a rule. From 40,000 people held prisoners from the begining of the war, the US army is investigating 600 reported cases of abuse (this includes mistreating prisoners of war). There were other reports about abuse that were dismissed not only by the US Army but, also, by human rights watchdogs. Things tend to balance when there is enough will. I am against torture, as I said before, especially when applied to regular people taken off the street like in totalitarian countries. But, bad things happen anyway and if they help save lives at least they didn't happen in vane. I would be really angry if I was one of the tortured people. Wouldn't you be angry if thousands of innocent people die in a person attack that could've been stopped by means of torture? Innocents die every day because of torture or because of person attacks, care to put them in balance? Don't take what I write as an edorsement of torture, far from it, it's just something to make you consider all sides of the coin.

Mark Kent First of all, there was always torture around. The cold war had so much...

Really, why are we discussing this here?
