Why a cheap shot? The VP was a prime proponent of the war, it is perfectly acceptable to look at his judgment and care in all his actions.

Don't buttume too much, because you are wrong.

On Tue, 14 Feb 2006 13:22:09 -0500, mlw Please, I don't see what a rather simple hunting accident can possibly have to do with capability...

Technically speaking, "hunting" is not "killing." Hunting is a process by which you capture or kill prey. What these bozos did was drive up to where the birds were, flushed the birds, and shot. It is the *worst* type of cowardly behavior. Using living things as nothing more than skeet for sport.

I have no problem with "hunters," my father in-law and a bunch of my friends hunt, and I have been practicing archery to get good enough to go bow hunting.

On Wed, 15 Feb 2006 09:48:38 -0500, mlw I don't either. I don't live in the South. Although the region I live in is somewhat influenced by southern culture, Well, yes...but who...

Half butted ignorant rednecks who don't respect the deadly nature of what they are doing, have no respect for the animals, and don't even bother to f*&^king look at what they are shooting are a danger to everyone around them. I was sprayed by bird shot once in my back yard in Lynn Haven Florida when I was a kid, and it left me with a lasting impression.

I think a gun license should be like a drivers license, you should have a basic skill set and a full respect for the gun. A reasonable training course and proficiency test should be required, after that, I don't give a damn about who owns one, as long as they are licensed and registered. (Nothing scares burglars like an NRA sticker)

I don't own a gun because I think it is a dangerous think to have with kids, but I do own a 75LB pull compound bow. For home defense, I can grab it, knock the arrow, and shoot before anyone would even know. (Put the damn arrow through a 2x4 easily or make a 1 1-2 inch crater in cement) but, I know my kids can't even pull it back, so it is very safe.
