On Mon, 06 Mar 2006 18:09:29 -0700,

your total lack of showing any evidence that it is easier?

Bullpoo.

I have about a dozen servers I tend at work. It is *vital* that I can easily access, tweak, and jig with them, at any time, day or night, from any network connection available. Ease of use is vital. When the man DB server spikes to 30 on the load, because of a poorly optimised query, I *need* to be able to quickly access that server, and fix the problem.

You again seem to be a bit befuddled on what ease of use means.

It means using the computer, easily.

snips On Mon, 06 Mar 2006 18:09:29 -0700, Snit Nope, that's *your* crap. *You* were the one harping on about how your system has "ease of use" and the...

You claimed "ease of use" Kelsey asked how you would perform a given task, easier than his way. You failed to answer his question in any meaningful way.

Here's another one, (and frankly, I expect you to waffle around, rather than actually answer it, but wth. )

Pursuant to the server discussion above, I have, on my filemanagers menu, a series of bookmarks, that will, upon activation, magically open a window, to a given server, and allow me to drag and drop files from any machine I have access to, to or from that server-location. So I can, to use an example I performed today, create a nagios plugin, and simply drag and drop it into the proper directory on the server that needed it.

This all occurs over an encrypted link, without any need to enter usernames or pbuttwords, since it's all handled by ssh. It uses sftp for transport.

So, tell me, in simple terms, how I do this with OSX? With my Ubuntu system, it's easy. Open a filemanager, hit ^L, enter the url in the form don't know the path, you can just go to server:and click and point your way around until you find the dir you want. Simple no?

How would you do that on OSX?

Kelsey Bjarnason It seems as though Snit uses his computer to basically post to usenet all day long. Here are his posting times for the last couple of days (his...

He posed one simple task, which you have been unable to explain how to replicate at all on OSX, let alone in an easier way than Kelsey's.

What? that you have so far failed to show how you would do this "easier" on OSX?
