Pan word wrapping an example of slopware 1523iPod Linux On Fri, 04 Mar 2005 13:10:49 -0600, Liam Slider Don't buttume what you don't know. I've been to both of those pages. Mr. Hall is using Fedora, NOT... On Thu, 03 Mar 2005 19:44:23 -0500, DFS No, I do not. I may occasionally agree with other posters when they say certain aspects of Windows are crap (security, in particular), but mostly, I don't bother with it. In fact, I have said several times that I use Windows on occasion, and am generally satisfied with it as far as my usage goes. I just like Linux better, and think it is a superior OS when compared to Windows, despite all of Windows' bells and whistles. I find no difficulty in recognising it when it active. Don't lie. Not only is it outlined, the background colour is slightly darker, too. And my eyesight is not perfect. The trouble with you, DFS, is that you can't make a comment on Linux, even a seemingly neutral one, without making it sound like a sneer or an insult. Alwasy you have to add some snide little insinuation to denigrate Linux. But you always deny it. Perhaps you don't see the extent of your own bias. Now shut Unlikely. YOur 'revalations' so far have not been very revalatory, and you seldom tell the truth about Linux. And yet you attack pan for a lesser fault, which many of us pan users say isn't a problem at all. What was that about hypocrisy again? I can't remember the exact place. It may have been that I picked it up by the usual osmosis, lurking in groups or on the mailing lists I've read over the last few years, seeing people get flamed for not wrapping at 72 or so. In fact, I used to wrap at seventy, just to be sure. But 72-76 seems a reasonable range. It may only be a convention, but when in Rome, etc... You berate Jeff Relf for not following the conventions and rules of society - you should not commit the same fault Then I'm baffled, as this doesn't seem to be what other users are experiencing. Even teh Windows version wrpas at 75, and I can't imagine the Linux version would be substantially different. I'm at a loss to understand why you aren't wrapping at 72 or thereabouts, as it seems to be the standard default of pan. Are you using a fixed font? If not, try that, it may make a difference.
