I never ever could like Gnome. Sorry, no offence, but I wish it never existed. I cannot imagine an uglier interface than what GTK1 provided. GTK2 is much nicer, but, hey, I click on File-Open in Gimp and browse to a folder on my server buried under many subfolders... do you think I can put a bookmark there? No. So the next time I open the same application I have to click-click-ckick my way back to the folder again. My finger is wearing out...

Or I browse away from that folder, do you think I can just return by clicking on the bookmark? No, I need to click-click-click again and again. Makes me sick.

In KDE life is simpler for guys like me. Just bookmark the folder in Konqueror and return any time.

And what about Nautilus? Is it a tabbed file manager? It is more like the senseless Windows Explorer. Konqueror wins outright.

And I want to compile a program that was written for Gnome. How many dependencies do I need to harvest from the Internet? An almost impossible task. I tried it once with compiling Gnumeric, then gave it up. Why is this dependency hell in Gnome, I don't know. It seems to be very disorganised, all over the place.

KDE could improve on the look side of things, but I never ever had problems compiling a KDE application.
