Click only solves preconceived problems with any ease, type can be optimised for any weird thing you want to do. Example: I swap my mouse from right to left every half hour or so to even out the wrist strain. Problem: when it's on the left, I need buttons 1 and 2 swapped around.

Windows solution (took five minutes to discover):

Mouse click on my computer, mouse, buttons, pull down menu for button 2, reselect, pull down menu for button 1, reselect (can't swap the order of changing these buttons, beware!), click ok, close. That's to go from right to left. To go left to right, you must remember to exchange the order of button remapping.

Time: 5 minutes

Linux solution (took ten minutes to discover, and I had to (GASP!) rtfm!):

Righto, the linux solution took longer, the first time. What about the second and subsequent swapovers?

Windows:

Mouse click on my computer, mouse, buttons, pull down menu for button 2, reselect, pull down menu for button 1, reselect (can't swap the order of changing these buttons, beware!), click ok, close. Time: 3 minutes (practice makes perfect!)

Linux:

Control-R xm control-R Enter.

The control-R xm brings up the previous command with xm in it, the next control R backs up another one if the wrong one comes up first.

Time: 3 seconds.

Day in, day out, year in, year out, every half hour, 3 minutes versus 3 seconds. And you wonder why I only use Doze for games???

(And actually, I really do the swap under linux in about 1.5 seconds, because I remapped control-P to "find the previous command starting with.." and optimised even further.)
