And according to the Scribus site it was the *first* which implies *only* book done in Scribus. Sounds more like a proof of concept and once again, speaks not to how easy or difficult the project was.

In traditional publishing circles, even Quark was not the choice for books and long documents. It and less so Pagemaker, didn't handle long documents well.

That's why folks who did books, text books and long documents use FrameMaker from Adobe.

Ok, when I had a problem with Pagemaker I could call Adobe. Quark, Quark.

Who do I call for Scribus?

dialing OSS? OSS-scr-bus ?

Nope. Real issues. The pros use supported software. Period.

Oh and I forgot to ask. Which SB or printer(and their prepress dept) supports Scribus files?

By a fraction of the CC world. Yes, the Web is content creation, but it's hardly the same as the printed world. By a long shot. Nowhere near the same problems.

Used in the Video world by some. But you won't find it at ILM or some of those on a large, if any, basis. Think SUPPPORT.

Just because "thousands of people" read the Twin Tier Times, doesn't make the folks who do it pros. Of course it would help if you understood what a professional is.

I'm more than sure that if I called up Quebecor, Donnelley, or Quad Graphics and asked them if they support Scribus or Gimp files, they'd say "What?". Adn I've worked with each of them.

Nope. Still out.
