You are supposed to have enough brains to change it back to the "nv" driver before the change. Then after the change RE-install the driver so that NVIDIA'S own detection routines run.

THEN re-run the Nvidia driver install with sh NVIDIAlovelovexdrivername.sh -q

OR use Yast to UNINSTALL the driver, then REINSTALL it.

That is because you didn't set the vesa or standard nv driver BEFORE you made the hardware change.

IF you had READ NVIDIA'S read me on this, you would have seem that you should do this. It is NOT a Linux issue, it is due to NVIDIA not incorporating things the same way in their LIMITED Linux driver that they do in their FUILLY DEVELOPED WindBlows driver.
