The Distribution Switcheroo...Exactly what is it

In reality the Distribution Switcheroo is quite simple. You, as an end user have a problem with Redhat. The Linux FREAKZOIDS will suggest you try Debian to solve all of your troubles. However, if you had said you had a problem with Debian, they would have suggested Redhat to solve all your troubles.

Apt doesn't work----try rpm.... RPM doesn't work....try apt.... Neither rpm or apt works.....try YaST.... Neither rom, apt nor Yast works....try emerge (gentoo).... None of this works,......Compile from source,.........

And on, and on and on and on and on and on it goes because the Linux FREAKZOID has a MILLION reasons and alternative paths to attempt to solve your problem.

HOWEVER, the FREAKZOID always seems to ignore the fact that TIME IS MONEY and maybe YOU don't have the TIME to spend trying 15 different versions of Linux in order to make something work..

Wouldn't it be nice if every Linux distribution ACTUALLY WORKED as advertised? Unfortunately that is wishful thinking and looking at the .00001 versions of software included with the typical distribution I doubt it is going to happen anytime soon.

Until that fateful day, feel free to waste your time trying Linux distribution after distribution looking for the holy grail. Good Luck!!!
