The Linux desktop 050310 1706mlw I actually agree with you here. I don't want a Linux system that looks and feels like Windows.
Sure you do. The Linux desktop 050310 1707 If the mbutt market is indeed under the thumb of Microsoft, and I do not accept that it is, they are willing victims at the least. Microsoft wasn't born with... It's a different kind of flexibility. I can't change the Windows source code to move the Restore button around, but I can create themes to do it for me. Haven't you ever seen a computer interface or touchscreen that looks nothing like Windows or Mac or Linux? Well, chances are it's a Windows system with a theme or other custom interface.
It runs faster and looks better on Windows. Most open source programs do.
The Linux desktop 050310 1708 Mark Kent November 22, 2004 - We've made an important update to the German language version of Firefox 1.0. The eBay search plug-in previously... Even with that bug, and all other bugs it has.
Hmmm. I've been using it for about 6 months and haven't experienced any random freezes or lockups, of any kind. But it is running standalone. Speaking of freezes, I was in MicroCenter yesterday, playing around with Linxpire on an AMD64-3500+ system. When I dbl-clicked some of the desktop icons, nothing would happen for 2-3 seconds, no cursor change, nothing to indicate the system was processing. Then suddenly the app would appear on the screen. Totally bogus.
Your mind is too simple to need psychanalysis. You're obsessed with Windows. At least half of your post enbreastled "The Linux desktop" is devoted to Microsoft and Windows.
